This has been in the making for many years! I have been making art, teaching art and putting on community art events for a long time! I love seeing people’s faces when they are deep in their creative process, just doing their thing, playing, problem solving, attaching their own meaning to their work and then sharing that, expressing that with the community and seeing the pride on their faces…that’s good stuff!!!

When we are engaged in our creative process, we are engaged in ourselves, our voice, our way of knowing. The more we are engaged in our creative process, the more healthy, innovative solutions we create for ourselves, our communities and our world!

As a professional artist, building on my foundation of skills then having the freedom to experiment applying those skills, has greatly contributed to the development of my creative process, my individual voice, my way of knowing and ultimately my identity by discovering what makes me unique. I believe everyone should have the opportunity to authentically express themselves and that is what I want to offer the community through community-based art projects.

One of the big barriers that prevents access is money. Creating and running a non-profit removes that barrier for all of us. With the pivotal help of sponsors, donators and grants providing funding, we can offer fun, exciting, thought-provoking and meaningful community-based art projects that ALL can participate in. You don’t have to be an artist to participate. You just have to be yourself!
